Ok, I must confess, I am digressing from doing a song about wine this month. But we can’t always drink wine, there is also beer and liquor, and to be frank, this song isn’t about these either.

I usually try to find a song that ties into thanksgiving that still has “wine” in it somewhere. Those are tough to find. But I did find a very fun song that fits the season and is something we can all relate to.

It seems that from Thanksgiving to Christmas (throughout the Winter), life is a big smorgasbord of parties and family gatherings where we may tend to overeat. This overeating conditioning seems to manifest itself greatly at the annual family feasting / holiday dinners.

This song covers that feeling we all have of being overstuffed. In fact, this person seems to be going for a championship in overeating as they have purchased “stretchy pants” for the event. No belts and buttons to mess with. Just a forgiving fabric with an elastic band that can accommodate the voluminous amounts you will eat. It’s also better than watching your weird Uncle loosen his belt and unbutton his pants in the recliner. This spares us that.

Underwood said she had the “best time” writing this song with Hillary Lindsey and Chris DeStefano. Underwood may be a strong spokesperson for the importance of living a healthy lifestyle, but for this song, she found herself taking advantage of the much-needed balance in life and celebrating the chance to indulge in endless sweets and delicious feasts while spending the holidays with your family.

So, watch and listen to this hilarious holiday tune. The lyrics are on the screen. It’s a bawdy up-tempo song, and Carrie sings it with gusto and a voice we don’t often hear from her.

Oh, and Happy Holiday eating!! Get your stretchy pants ready!
